dados obtidos atrav{\'e}s do sat{\'e}lite Landsat 8. Foram
constatadas fortes redu{\c{c}}{\~o}es da cobertura vegetal e
posteriormente um elevado aumento da temperatura ao longo dos anos
estudados. As m{\'a}ximas foram obtidas em 2022, com as maiores
{\'a}reas com temperaturas acima de 35ºC, tanto no ver{\~a}o
quanto no inverno. Verificou-se ser satisfat{\'o}rio o uso desta
t{\'e}cnica para estudos desta natureza para o monitoramento
ambiental. ABSTRACT: This study aims to observe the thermal
characteristics on the surface of the municipality of Moatize,
Tete Province, in the central region of Mozambique in the years
2013, 2017 and 2022, in the summer and winter periods, using
Landsat 8 images. Strong reductions in vegetation cover were
identified and subsequently a high increase in temperature over
the years studied. The maximums were obtained in 2022, with the
largest areas with temperatures above 35ºC, both in summer and
winter. It is satisfactory to use this technique for studies of
this nature for environmental monitoring.",
